One of the top 10 from Hercule Poirot
I have now read almost 25 Hercule Poirot's. My observation is that Agatha Christie has written her best Hercule Poirot's during 1930-40...hence 'Murder on Orient Express', 'Hercule Poirot's Christmas', 'Sad Cypress' and 1-2 more are some of her best works. 'Appointment with death also belongs to that era..hence a good piece of fiction this book is. Poirot at his best!
Hercule Poirot is truly one of the best detectives ever and this is one of his best novels. The way he solves the case using his deduction and supreme skills in just 24 hours is totally awesome. If this is your first Poirot (or even your first Agatha Christie) it will surely excite you. And even if it is not your first, it will give you more than full value of your money.

Received the book well ahead of the proposed delivery date. But the book cover is full of dirt, both on front and back side. Flipkart must look into it for sure. If this happens on my next order, I will definitely return the same.

Great Book!
It is certainly a great book and very unexpected result which is expected from Agatha Christie and certainly worthy book to be read. It is a wonderful book and once you start reading it you won't let go of it.

What-A-Book!!
Christie at her best! Poirot at his very best!! Psychology at its bestest!!!
What a read this has been. Amazing. What a strong characterization. The characters are so adroitly portrayed that they just come to life. The plot is amazing and when the final twist comes, it is just totally unexpected and out of blue.
Will go with a 5 star for this one. And would highly recommend to all.

The End - The End is what makes it worth!
To tell the truth, I didn't quite like the book when I started reading it. It slightly dragged and was sort of dry for my taste. The initial unraveling of the plot failed to impress and I was wondering how the other reviewers were so greatly impressed - Well, till I came to the fifty pages of the book. And from there, you will find Christie at her best.

I would say, slightly underwhelming for an Agatha Christie- Poirot combo. Too much time wasted explaining the character of the women-to-be-murdered and the feelings of the family towards her. Murder doesn’t happen until half the story and Hercule Poirot doesn’t appear until then.
What Christie lost in the first half, she gained in the second. Part 2 was fast paced and the interrogations were very quick. The usual Poirot revelation was too good and too cinematic. The readers are left to wond...
