Summary of the Book

Two alien spacecraft appear in the skies above the Gaulish village, and try to get control over the Gauls' secret magic potion. Asterix and Obelix return from another boar hunt, only to discover that all their friends have been turned rigid, well except for old druid Getafix who was testing the magic potion. Asterix is immune too, since he had just had some magic potion during the hunt and Obelix who was lucky, or unlucky, enough to have fallen into a vat full of the potion as a baby, admits that he has been feeding Dogmatix some potion on the side. When an alien comes to the village to confiscate the great weapon which has become famous throughout the universe, he discovers that the potion is incompatible with anyone but humans and enlarges him to gigantic size when he drinks it.
