Summary of the Book

Druid Getafix has broken his golden sickle! Without it, he cannot preserve the magical potential of mistletoe and he will not be able to attend the Druids' conference or brew any more of his magical potion. If the Romans discover this, they will attack, and Julius Caesar will finally have control over the little Gaulish village. Asterix and Obelix journey forth to find Metallurgix, Getafix's cousin who is a brilliant sicklesmith. With his help alone can they obtain a new sickle. However, Metallurgix has gone missing, and our heroes soon discover that there is a dark plot in the background, one that involves those crazy Romans once again. Encountering bandits, Romans and crazy people from all over in a medley of races which is sure to send cackles of laughter down readers' spines. Can Asterix and Obelix return in time with the sickle so that they can fight off those crazy Romans once again? Or will this journey be too great for even our mighty heroes?
