The design of the ROG Strix GL 12 CX is inspired from the famous ninjas. It boasts a black chassis with slashes and sharp angles, which will remind you of a katana. The design intelligently incorporates some of these slashes as vents for both intake and exhaust functions. Meanwhile, the other slashes serve as ports for Aura Sync LEDs, allowing you to have unlimited customization options.
The ROG Strix GL 12 CX comes loaded with the 9th Generation Intel Core i7-9700K CPU, which enhances its performance. It is made for gaming but it can also multitask, stream, play, record your gaming sessions, and still have the ability and bandwidth to perform a few extra commands.
It comes packed with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 graphics, which offers you a seamless 4K ultra HD visual experience during your gameplay. The NVIDIA graphics also enhance your experience of VR. Additionally, the GeForce RTX 2070 supports DLSS and ray tracing in real time to make games feel more realistic.
The ROG Strix GL 12 CX comes with a motherboard, which boasts the Z390 chipset from Intel. Its motherboard also comes loaded the DIMM.2 module which is an ROG exclusive. The DIMM.2 module can accommodate two M.2 SSDs, which are cooled by a heat sink dedicated to them. It offers you flexible storage options, especially when it is coupled with dual NVMe drives, in a RAID configuration. You can also accelerate your HDD, replacing one SSD with a stick of Intel Optane memory, while you use the other SSD as a system drive. Furthermore, the NVMe PCI Express (PCIe) technology enhances the speed of loading apps and games.
The Aura Sync lighting offers you over 16 million colours to choose from. It also comes with several preset effects, allowing you to customize the RGB configurations of your PC. If a game is compatible, the Aura Sync can also be used to set the mood by reacting to changes in the gaming environment. Furthermore, this CPU comes with internal illumination, allowing you to view different components, through the optional and transparent side panel. Additionally, you can synchronize the effects and colours of other gaming accessories like keyboards, mice and so on, given that the said hardware is compatible with Aura Sync.
The ROG Strix GL 12 CX comes with a hot-swap 6.35 cm (2.5) SSD tray to hold the hot-swap SSD which contains the customized settings of a gaming master. This enables a gaming master to participate in e-sports tournaments, which are known to keep audiences on edge with their speed and intensity.
It comes with a design which is upgrade-friendly. It has enough room in its internal layout to allow you to add drives and fans without dismantling the entire unit. This ROG CPU also boasts proper cable layout to help keep things organized. Additionally, it comes with a 6.35 cm (2.5) SSD tray which can be used to store a drive to provide extra storage.
The fans in this gaming CPU are equipped to keep your system cool, especially during gaming marathons. It boasts an intelligent cooling system which has two separate air chambers to dissipate heat speedily. The ROG Strix GL 12 CX also has an interwoven HyperStream design which makes room for maximum air flow and quick removal of heat into the chassis. Additionally, there are three fans placed at the top and the bottom of the CPU which pass air through the system constantly and keep it cool.
ROG Armoury Crate ensures that lighting and system controls are available to you in a single and easy-to-access utility. It allows you to easily make changes in the settings. It also, lets you define up to four gaming profiles, which automatically adjust the settings to the titles you launch. Armoury Crate also, enables you to go beyond the factory-overclocked speeds, however, you would have to do it manually.
