Design

This headphone has been well constructed to offer you both comfort and a superior sonic quality. The magnesium frame structure holds the two earcups in position, fully covering your ears. These earcups carry a lightweight honeycomb aluminium casing on the outer side that serves the dual purpose of being trendy and at the same time creating a natural sensation.

You will find two hinged wings attached to the frame of this headphone. These 3D support wings ensure right amount of resistance at the right position on your head for enhanced comfort. The magnesium frame coupled with the 3D support wings ensure that the Audio Technica headphone exerts balanced amount of clamping force on your ears.

The inner side of the earcups of ATH-AD500 is well padded to sit comfortably on your ears. A 3 m long oxygen free cable trails down from the left earcup of AD500 to terminate in to 3.5 mm gold plated plug. You can use a 6.3 mm snap-on adaptor that comes with this headphone, to get connected to other audio sources that sport a compatible jack. This headphone tips the scale at 260 g.

Sound

The Audio Technica ATH-AD500 utilises two 53 mm headphone driver units to convert the electrical input in to sound waves. These driver units are loaded with Neodymium magnets that are well-known for producing superior sound quality. With 66 ohm of impedance, this headphone produces 99 dB of sound from every mW of electricity received. All these features ensure that this headphone is sufficiently loud and that it reproduces every beat within the frequency range of 10 Hz to 30000 Hz. The ATH-AD500 accepts up to 500 mW of power input. This headphone offers you close to natural sound with good mix of both bass and treble.
