    Khushwant Singh was born in the year 1915 in Hadani in British India and now in Pakistan. He studied in Delhi, Lahore, and London before starting his career as a lawyer in Lahore Court in 1939. After eight years of legal practice, India got independence in 1947 and Singh joined the Indian Foreign Service and he served in Canada and London. In 1951, he joined All India Radio as a journalist and then, he worked with UNESCO in the Department of Mass Communication in Paris. In the year 1956, Khushwant Singh decided to work on editorial services. He worked on multiple reputed newspapers and magazines as the editor, and also published novels and short stories that earned him a wide reputation.
