ABOUT THE BOOK:- Among the modern Indian social and political thinkers, B. R. Ambedkar is pre-eminent because of his pragmatic ideology of social transformation and of nation-building. Kanta Kataria in her present work states that Ambedkar’s vision of nation-building is of abiding interest, which perhaps has been paid scant attention by the scholars. Defending the logic of Ambedkar, she argues that unless the infallibility of the Vedas is not discarded and the Varna system is not completely uprooted, it would not be possible to create social solidarity and psychological unity among the people. ABOUT THE AUTHOR:- Kanta Kataria is Professor of Political Science, J N Vyas University, Jodhpur (Rajasthan). She possesses an outstanding academic career obtaining Gold Medal in M.A.; Ph. D., and D. Litt. degrees. She participated in the 24th International Political Science Association (IPSA) World Congress held at Poznan (Poland) in July, 2016. She has four books to her credit, besides 35 research papers published in reputed journals. She is the member of various statutory and academic bodies of the University. She has completed a major research project assigned to her by the University Grants Commission of India. During the course of her academic career for over two decades, she has also actively participated in various national and international seminars and conferences.
