Babasaheb Ambedkar (English, Paperback, Rege S. S.)
Babasaheb Ambedkar: He Dared to Fight, published by Amar Chitra Katha, is an illustrated book for children. Depicting the life story of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the book has been edited by Anant Pai, scripted by S. S. Rege and illustrated by Dilip Kadam.
Summary of the Book
Although Ambedkar hailed from a respectable family, he was treated as ‘untouchable’. Even his education and the law degrees did not help him fight the label initially. He took it as an opportunity to fight for the rights of the downtrodden, the suppressed community. He eventually became an icon of the underprivileged, through sheer hard work, composure and wisdom. Today, Ambedkar is remembered as the Father of the Indian Constitution, but his contributions to the oppressed communities are equally important to be remembered. This book helps children get acquainted with a great personality.
