Didn't notice this quote anywhere in the book, although it should have been there. It is where the title comes from.
Amazing book; reads much easier given that i had seen the HBO adaptation. The TV mini-series has taken (just) a bit of artistic freedom with the origin...

OUTSTANDING WORK
a great work from a great writer. Simple yet elegant. As a reader, one can easily relate to the pain,sufferings,kamaradschaft,joy, fear and victory these young boys from states shared. Also its a picture of the time a snapshot of the world when it had gone mad. Great to read from 1st to last page.simply love it

Relive the war!
Its one of those few books i've read that weaves personal experiences and battleground realities very well......in fact so well that it is difficult to put down this book without finishing it.
I got goosebumps, could visualise the conditions in which the PIR folks fought the great war, and at the end of it felt like having lived through all of it!
One of those few cherished books that i would love to re-read to inspire myself.

Must read for all WWII buffs!!
Any WWII buff will recommend this book, specially after the HBO mini series being so well made. However, the book also has some rather interesting insights on many styles of leaderships and team building. So, I will recommend it for leadership development as well, perfect for taking out some parts and making into case studies. Finished the book in 3 days, and now will read it again :)

Superb !
Band of Brothers ... an epic tale of camraderie , brotherhood , trust , hardships which lays bare the gritty realities of war. Made into a successful HBO series , this book is a must-read for all WW2 fans.

A truly gripping read
