    Loved It!

First of all, this book is really interesting and the style is gripping. It is not at all dry so people should not be put off by the fact that this is about corporate and Wall Street strategy and finacial manouvering. Events and concepts have been explained in very lucid terms and in a very captivating fashion.

Having said that, this book was a revelation, not in the sense that I wasn't aware of corporate greed and the Senior management's capability to get away with things. I was just blown ...

Informative and Quick-paced... A Bit Lengthy, But Worth It

This is one of the "must read" books for those interested in the world of business and high-finance. The authors have carried out quality research and are well informed on the history and events leading up to KKR's moves to takeover RJR-Nabisco. The book provides vivid details on the management style at the top echelons of RJR-Nabisco and KKR, laying emphasis on the CXOs and their spending habits. The rise of KKR is also well described to inform readers on the origins of Private Equity (PE) a...

A must read in today's corporate jungle.

If you're not aware of the power and misuses of debt or have ever underestimated it, this book is for you. It is not only about takeover of RJR Nabisco by KKR, but also about corporate greed, lies, backstabbing. This intriguing story, though does not offer any lessons explicitly as management books do, it is full of practical lessons. The most pervading ones are - never pay in cash, never trust anyone, and always lie.

It is quiet surprising how RJR management tried to swindle shareholders. I...

    Scintillating !

A must read for finance geeks. The book is gripping right from the first page. One notch above 'Cold Steel' in the genre. I-Bankers scorching around pursuing Johnson is a delight to read. Amazing plot. To top it off its not a piece of fiction
