Manju Bansal, M.Sc. and Ph.D. with specialization in biochemistry and molecular biology from Delhi University, is a reader in the Department of Botany, Sri Aurobindo College, University of Delhi. Dr. Bansal teaches genetics, genomics and biochemistry in undergraduate courses. Her research papers have appeared in national and international journals of great repute. Dr. Bansal was awarded BOYSCAST fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, to conduct research at Faculty of Agriculture, University of Western Australia (UWA). After returning from UWA she did one year diploma in computer programming and joined Center for Biotechnology, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi as a part time post-doctoral research fellow. There she worked on molecular dynamics of site directed mutants of hemoglobin. The present book was mainly conceived during her work at JNU. Recently in 2008, Dr. Bansal has been awarded womenâs achievement award at an international meeting for her contributions in academics.
