Damodar Gujarati After teaching for more than 28 years at the City University of New York, He is currently a professor of Economics in the Department of Social Sciences at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York. Dr. Gujarati received his M.Com. degree from the University of Bombay in 1960, his M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago in 1963, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Chicago in 1965. Dr. Gujarati has published extensively in recognized national and international journals, such as the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Economic Journal, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Business, the American Statistician, and the Journal of Industrial and Labor Relations.

Good book

This book is completely on regression and the reader should have a basic knowledge of statistics. This book is not only helpful for economist but could be useful for other professionals like engineers. The language of the book is easy and the writer discusses the assumptions.

This book has good for objective econometric but there is some mistakes

This book is sort and sweet for beginner. The objective wise it may be good because there is lot of objective solved answer and it is useful for competition exam of statistics and economics. It is useful for NET.
But it is not good as the fourth edition because there is some printing mistake and also there is not much explanation as the topic demanded.

best book available for Indian students. if you find difficulty in understanding this, then go for A. H. Studenmund, and then Gujarati can be read.
also Gujarati covers the syllabus of Indian universities entirely, which other books are not able to do so, including A.H. Studenmund.

Good Book for non Statistician’s

A well written book on Regression, it explains the concepts without much hassles of complex stat formulae's which can be understood by non Statistician’s.
The equations and the theorems are well explained with easy to understand examples and have enough exercises to practise and understand the concepts.
