A comic book story arc, Batman R.I.P. pits the super hero against The Black Glove organization as they try to destroy everything that Batman stands for.

    Summary Of The Book

Batman and Robin are perched on a gothic building when Batman defiantly announces that Batman and Robin will never die. Soon after, we see the troubled life of Bruce Wayne spin out of control as his relationship with his new girl friend, the mysterious Jezebel Jet, develops into a deeper bond. Jezebel learns early on that Bruce Wayne is indeed Batman. This eases things in their relationship, and Batman even gives Jezebel a tour of the batcave.

Earlier, in a confrontation with the Joker, Batman learns that The Black Glove organization is planning a terrible end for the superhero. Things take a sinister turn when The Black Glove brutally attacks Batman and leave him seriously injured. Bruce Wayne wakes up and realises that he does not remember anything. He seemingly becomes the victim of mental illness and abandons his Batman identity for a life on the streets of Gotham City. Meanwhile, the Club of Villains makes the best of Batman’s absence and wreck havoc on the streets of Gotham.

Armed with an old broken radio that he fondly calls bat-radia, a baseball bat, and miscellaneous pieces of junk that now serve in place of his utility belt, the Batman of Zur-en-Arrh and his new sidekick Bat-mite set out on a trail to the lair of The Black Glove. Everything now rests on Bruce Wayne regaining his sanity in time to stop The Black Glove from destroying everything that he always fought to protect. The question on every Batman fan’s mind would be whether Bruce Wayne would be able to resurrect Batman again?
