The one true Batman is back, and this time he’s taking back the mantle of the Bat. Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne is a graphic novel by Grant Morrison.

    Summary of the Book

Dick Grayson is Batman. All of the Bat-Family believes Bruce Wayne to be dead. However, Darkseid’s omega beams only sent Bruce into the past. Bruce wades through time, cladding various roles like disguises as he makes his way towards the only goal he has ever desired: the Cowl of the Batman. However, what will Bruce find when he returns to his own time? His protégé has taken over the mantle of the Bat, and will Dick readily give it up?

    The return!

To sum this book in one word- underwhelming. Massive expectations post Batman's 'death/disappearence' following the conclusion of "Final Crisis"; sadly though "Return" doesnt quite live up to the mark.

Staggered storyline- albeit not linear, it does to a limited degree succeed with its continunity.
History warps- One of the more likeable aspects about this book- The Stone Age, Pre-civil war America, the Wild West, the doozy '40s etc.

In a nutshell, this one's strictly for Bat-nerds. 3 stars.

The 80's were great, so were the early 90's, but thereafter there was a slight decline. Take stories like No Man's Land. A...
