A woman suffering from anterograde amnesia tries to remember her life in Before I Go To Sleep, a psychological thriller by S. J. Watson.

    Summary of the Book

Christine Lucas wakes up every day next to a man she cannot recognize. He calms her down and tells her that she is his wife and that she is currently 47 years old. Two years ago, he explains, she met with a terrible accident which resulted in her current affliction: anterograde amnesia. She can’t form new memories. Alarmed at her discovery, she struggles to come to terms. After the man leaves for work, she receives a mysterious phone call from a doctor claiming to be her physician. His name is Dr. Nash and he has been treating her without the knowledge of her husband. He guides her to a journal she had been maintaining. The contents of the journal shock her. The first thing she needs to remember is that she can trust no one, especially not her husband.

    Good Book

Since it is about memory loss, some information keeps on repeating, which I did not like...But how the plot unfolds is interesting,,The climax is gripping. Once you identify the villian, you will want to finish the book soon, to know what will happen at the end.... I am happy that I read this book.... A topic like this was written in an interesting manner.

    Time Pass Read...

I read so many reviews about this book. And they all said one thing in common - the climax.

Its really boring. I mean, I'm not sure what was the author trying to do with that climax. Maybe she didnt get any other idea to finish the novel or she just wanted to finish the book somehow :P

The climax (meaning the last 50-75 pages) is really boring. I say that again. There were times when we feel - Oh shit, whats happening. There are a few good moments. but overall, i will give a rating 3.

    A Suspenseful Experience

I picked up this book while browsing through flipkart, impresssed by its writeup and review. I started reading this book as soon as I got the book delivered to my home. Flipkart's on dot delivery was commandable.

The book turned out to be an above expectation. Needless to say a page turner!!!!

The story revolves round a woman suffering from amnesia. The subtle details given out while describing the condition and mind set of the character made me connect with the story. Amnesia condition ...

I picked up this book thinking that it was a story describing the life of an amnesia patient, the way she feels every morning after waking up and forgetting everything of what life has been for nearly twenty years before that. I felt the same for nearly 90% of the times before the book takes a totally unexpected turn at the end. The genre you expect the book to belong before reading would definitely not be the same after reading the book. This is a definitely a different book written in a dif...
