Summary of the Book

Hannah is a strong and independent woman who is very careful not to commit as she does not want to end up like her divorced mother. However, when she meets Mark Reilly, the two get into a love affair that seems to be perfect. They live in their expensive London townhouse and Hannah is the center of her husband’s feelings. Mark goes on a business trip to the US and this is when Hannah realizes that everything is not so perfect. Hannah waits for days for Mark to return, but there is no sign of him. His friends believe that he has gone to Paris and not America. Also, a mysterious woman has been calling him for some time now. Hannah soon realizes that there is a lot that she does not know of Mark’s dark and violent past, and she needs to understand why he hid everything from her.
