Great one if you are interested in Raptors

This book is a compilation on raptors of Indian subcontinent. High quality photographs combined with appropriate information on each species make it a good raptor book. Although the book takes into account birds of prey, it hasn't included nocturnal birds, especially owls in it. Maybe owls are not considered to birds of prey (but they are!).
The book is bulky. Its a library book and not a field guide. The extensive information provided by the authors is a real good scientific compilation. Thi...

    Excellent Book About Rapors...

This book is definitely one of the best source about indian raptors, only next to Salim Ali and Ripley's work.

    Ups:
    -----
Very detailed and excellent details about identification, behaviour, food etc.
Upto date informationi about the sightings
    Includes some good photographs.

    Downs
    ----------
Behaviour details is short for some species.
Photographs are below average on even some common species. They are either heavily cropped or pixellated.

If you are a serious birder and interested in rapt...

For serious birders wanting to know more about birds of prey in India

If you are a serious birder with a special interest in birds of prey in our subcontinent this is definitely a must have book. Extremely thorough and detailed descriptions of the BOPs that are found in the subcontinent. However, if you have been used to only field guides then this book might be a little overwhelming at first. You will soon grow out of that, as I did. Mr Naoroji uses photographs to explain all the morphs, sexes and various stages in the lives of each bird.
    There was a larger v...

    Excellent

Very exhaustive about birds of prey which no other book offers. Enough pictures to make the difference between male, female and juveniles which other authors fail to show in their respective books.
