Summary Of The Book

Bishan Singh Bedi was one of the finest left-arm spinners of the Indian cricket team. He played for the Indian national team for thirteen years, from 1966 until 1979. During this period, Bedi played sixty seven test matches, ten one day international matches, and several first class matches. He also played English county cricket for Northamptonshire. Bedi holds a very respectable position both in the Indian national cricket team as well as in the hearts of Indian cricket fans.

He was one of the Indian spin quartet, accompanying Erapalli Prasanna, Srinivas Venkataraghavan, and Bhagwat Chandrasekhar. Bedi established himself as a legendary cricketer when the Indian cricket scenario was just blooming. He also played as the captain of the Indian national cricket team in 22 test matches. Some of his victories in test matches, which were held in England and the Caribbean during the 1970s, are still highlighted in the history of Indian cricket.

The author of this book has written a gripping autobiography of the cricketer, who is a living example of sheer dedication, hard work, and determination. Suresh Menon has also touched the various other characteristic traits of the cricketer to highlight the man who took Indian cricket to the top. The author also gives the readers a glimpse into the personal life of the cricketer making this book a complete mirror image of the legend Bishan Singh Bedi.

This book is an exhaustive yet easy to read biographical sketch of the man who was known for his open mind and rebellious nature rather than just a bowler or cricketer.
