Bishan Singh Bedi was one of the finest left-arm spinners of the Indian cricket team. He played for the Indian national team for thirteen years, from 1966 until 1979. During this period, Bedi played sixty seven test matches, ten one day international matches, and several first class matches. He also played English county cricket for Northamptonshire. Bedi holds a very respectable position both in the Indian national cricket team as well as in the hearts of Indian cricket fans.
He was one of the Indian spin quartet, accompanying Erapalli Prasanna, Srinivas Venkataraghavan, and Bhagwat Chandrasekhar. Bedi established himself as a legendary cricketer when the Indian cricket scenario was just blooming. He also played as the captain of the Indian national cricket team in 22 test matches. Suresh Menon is one of the famous editors of the New Indian Express, and an author of various books and sports columns. Some of his famous books are titled as Pataudi: Nawab of Cricket, Wisden India: Almanack 2013, Sachin : Genius Unplugged, and Champions: How the World Cup was Won.
Suresh Menon completed his graduation from Bangalore University and He was the university topper in the disciplines of Economics and Political Science. Apart from the New Indian Express, he was also part of other leading dailies like the Deccan Herald, and The Pioneer. He resigned in 2002 and took up writing books full-time.
