Thrilling and sometimes, stirringly disturbing, a psychological thriller, Black Swan, is an extraordinary journey of the psyche of a young and ambitious ballerina Nina (Natalie Portman). When Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel), the director at her ballet company decides to replace the prima ballerina for the lead role in Swan Lake, he has the only one dancer on his mind, Nina. However, she has a new competitor, Lily (Mila Kunis), who catches Leroy’s attention. As Swan Lake requires a dancer who can personify the grace and innocence of the white swan and guile and sensuality of the black swan, Nina and Lily compete against each other to prove their excellence. Their rivalry expands into a twisted friendship and Nina starts to explore her dark side, that can completely destroy her. Directed by Darren Aronofsky, Black Swan had five Academy Award nominations and Portman won the Best Actress award for the film.
