  • Description

A Book of Simple Living, by Ruskin Bond, brings the author’s brief notes from the hills. In these pages, readers will be able to find solace and inspiration even in the most mundane details of life.

    Summary of the Book

Based on a lifetime's experience in the hills and small towns of North India, Ruskin Bond chronicles many small moments that constitute a life of peace - with the self, the natural world, friends, family, and even strangers. In this title, readers get to watch a wild plum blossom, see the luminous moon between two deodar trees, hear a redstart whistle and the rain drum on a tin roof, empathise with the ache of losing love, and the consolation of old friends during trying times.

    About Ruskin Bond

Scenes from a Writer’s Life talks about the adolescent Ruskin. Some of his books were adapted as films and TV series, which have won several awards. Garland of Memories, A Face in the Dark and Other Hauntings, Vagrants in the Valley and Other Poems and Once upon a Monsoon Time are some of his other works.

The wonders of a simple life

This is a wonderful book. Just yesterday, I was reading this book and it made me realize that happiness can be found anywhere and anytime. Ruskin Bond inspires without being pretentious. His writing is simple and innocent and yet profound. You should definitely add this book to your collection. The book cover is also very pretty and the pages are of a good quality.

Despite being a fan of Ruskin Bond, i can say with complete honesty and without bias that this is book ranks as one of THE best books ever. I am not talking about Ruskin Bond's books....I am ranking this book as a an all time great of book written in the English language. It is so simply written yet contains such insights that many a time one one goes....EXACTLY! That is JUST what I think. he brings out the fact that happiness and contentment don't require huge bando-bast. These can be found ...

A Book Of simple living Ruskin Bond.

This is one of the most delightful musings of a writer at the age of 80. He talks about his life in the mountains of Mussourie amongst the Himalayas. He describes the flora and fauna of the place and emphasizes the total contentment he feels living with his adopted family. He tells us that total happiness is but fleeting and to be content is what is right to aim for. One need not climb every mountain (as the song says) but be satisfied with one's achievements as one nears the end . Of cours...

    Classy product

True to it's name!! A simple life with all it's beauty and intensity has been described so beautifully. We forget to notice and live in the moment, while being bombarded with the chaos and complexity of life. This book perfectly draws a parallel on how much satisfaction and peace you can get when you leave behind the attachment to material things and inturn start focussing on the nature and subtleties of the beautiful creation our planet is!!
