About Al Koran

Al Koran was a British mentalist, author and inventor.

Koran’s other publications include Mastered Amazement: Mainly for the manipulator, Al Koran's Professional Presentations, and The Magic of the Mind in Action.

He was previously known as Edward Doe and was a hairdresser before becoming a professional magician and mentalist. Koran is the inventor of the magic effect Ring Flite, as well as that of a special deck of cards known as the Koran deck. In 1945, he was awarded the London Society of Magicians Gold Medal, the youngest member to ever receive one. In 1969, he moved to the United States, first to Cleveland and from there to Chicago. In America, he made frequent appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show, but passed away due to cancer in 1972.
