Why is there a shipping charge for this item?

Sellers with Flipkart Assured waive off the delivery charge for Orders over Rs 500. For Orders under Rs 500, a nominal delivery charge is added per item.

Sellers without Flipkart Assured may or may not add a delivery charge to your Order. This is subject to Seller discretion.

What is the estimated delivery time?

Sellers generally procure and ship the items within the time specified on the product page. Business days exclude public holidays and Sundays.

Estimated delivery time depends on the following factors:

      • The Seller offering the product
      • Product's availability with the Seller
      • The destination to which you want the order shipped to and the Seller's location

Why does the delivery date not correspond to the delivery timeline of X-Y business days?

It is possible that the Seller or our courier partners observe a holiday between the day you placed your order and the date of delivery, which is based on the timelines shown on the product page. In this case, we add a day to the estimated date. Some courier partners and Sellers do not work on Sundays and this is factored in to the delivery dates.

What do the different tags like 'In Stock', 'Available' mean?

      'In Stock'

Products‘In Stock’ are readily available with seller.

Products listed as ‘In Stock’ are readily available with seller.

      'Preorder' or 'Forthcoming'

The product is not released yet. You can however ‘book’ an order for this. Shipping happens only after the product launch.

      'Out of Stock'

Currently, the item is not available for sale. Use the 'Notify Me' feature to know once it is available for purchase.

Sometimes, items have to be sourced by Sellers from outside India. These items are mentioned as 'Imported' on the product page and can take at least 10 days or more to be delivered to you.

      'Back In Stock Soon'

The item is popular and is sold out. You can however 'book' an order for the product and it will be shipped according to the timelines mentioned by the Seller.

      'Temporarily Unavailable'

The product is currently out of stock and is not available for purchase. The product could to be in stock soon. Use the 'Notify Me' feature to know when it is available for purchase.

      'Permanently Discontinued'

This product is no longer available because it is obsolete and/or its production has been discontinued.

      'Out of Print'

This product is not available because it is no longer published and has been permanently discontinued.

Why does the estimated delivery time vary for each seller?

Delivery times are influenced by product availability, geographic location of the Seller, your shipping destination and the courier partner's time-to-deliver to your location.

Please enter your default pin code on the product page to know more accurate delivery times on the product page itself.

Seller does not/cannot ship to my area. Why?

Enter your pincode on the product page to know whether the product can be delivered to your location.

If you haven't provided your pincode until the checkout stage, the pincode in your last used shipping address will be used to check for serviceability.

Whether your location can be serviced or not depends on:

      • Whether the Seller actually ships to your location
      • Legal restrictions, if any, in shipping particular products to your location
      • The availability of reliable courier partners in your location

At times Sellers prefer not to ship to certain locations. This is entirely at their discretion.

My FIRST point: For the Indian students, it is better to start off with a C book written by a popular local author (Let Us C by Yashavant Kanetkar or Programming in ANSI C by E. Balaguruswamy or any other local C book you and your friends are comfortable with). It should be sufficient for your College exams and give you an overview of some of the commonly used features of C without right away scaring you. Only after your College grades are assured, it is alright to dive into this book. This b...

The book is awesome. The authors tell you every thing in the book about C, every minute detail of the language in just 270 pages! But the book is not for beginners as the book doesn't go into explaining stuff in very detail as the other books do, like giving examples telling you exceptions and things like that. The authors expect you to figure them out on your own, by coding in C.They will touch upon, or I would say familiarize you with every thing the language offers to us.

    I would suggest ...

It's too precious, can't miss it!

Written by Dennis Ritchie (who originally designed and implemented the language) and Brian Kernighan, this is the original and authoritative reference to the C programming language.

The success of the C language is widely attributed to this book. Since the book first appeared in 1978, it has been the best learning resource for the C language for over two decades and it hasn't yet lost its shine.

Elegant writing style, concise, clear and informative. Though at some places the coding-style an...

    Listen up

    Ok kids, listen up.
You wanna be a great programmer, you gotta read this book.
You wanna be a not-so-great programmer, you still gotta read this book.

This book will be the best and the worst experience of your life.
You've been pampered by Java, Python, C# etc, now you'll get your butt kicked.
But it'll be so worth it, because once you emerge with your battle scars and
I've-been-to-hell-and-back look in your eye, you'll know programming like the back of your hand.

    Word of warning- There'...

    not for absolute beginners...

this book is considered the bible of C language and for advanced C programmers and professionals is an excellent recommendation, but for absolute beginners and dummies, this book is not such a good idea.. those who are dealing with C for the first time will find it very difficult(even impossible) to understand this book... not recommended for beginners.

Most Valuable and Versatile C Book

I used this book around 5 years back, since then it on my desk. After seeing the book my first reaction was... "That's it.". As the book is very thin, but believe me the content is awesome, it tells why the language behaves the way. As far as I have seen, I have found answer to every question I have encountered in the details. One more thing I like about the book, the examples are limited functionality Unix utilities (means practical examples).
P.S. Reading "K and R" requires full attention.

The best book of all time for 'C'

This book is a treasure. There are lot of biggies in the market. But if you want to taste the flavor of C then go through it. Indeed 'C' is the mother of any programming language and this book is the mother of any programming book ever written.
And obviously hats off to Flipkart, for their excellent delivery. I got this book next day after placing the order.

The best way to start programming

The main feature of this book is the writing style. Its extremely engrossing and easy to understand. Dennis Ritchie (RIP - he recently passed away on 13th October 2011) created the C language himself. If you're looking for a book with the latest and most complete ANSI C specification for reference purposes I suggest go instead with The Complete Reference C. This is not that kind of book. Its the type that teaches you how to program in C and at the same time be an awesome programmer.

    And at R...

The best book on C. Dennis Ritchie is great.

This is the best book on C. It doesn't matter whether you want it for learning C or you want it as a reference. It doesn't matter whether you are a beginner, an expert, a teacher or a professional - this book serves all.

As it is written by the creator of the language Dennis Ritchie, this books cover every feature of the language in less than 300 pages. He has said in the book-

"C is a small language, and is not well served with a big book."

The book is compact, yet it is comprehensive...
