Over all a good lense however there is a slight distortion at the corners of the image not visible in the camera's LCD but when you take it to the computer you will notice the distortion. its not a great deal because you can always get that sorted with a little of photoshop. So A Great Lense to buy.......

Faced a bit of challenge in registering the product on canon India online for warranty.. Finally managed . The correct serial number is mentioned in the warranty card inside. I tried all different numbers posted on the body of the lens box which was incorrect

The Canon EF-S 10-18 mm lens is constructed with 14 elements in 11 groups. The lens comes with enhanced coating for high-contrast, high-resolution images with minimal glare and aberration.
With a minimum focal length of 10 mm and a maximum focal length of 18 mm, the lens is suitable for sports, nature and wildlife photography.
The lens has a 4 group optical zoom system and includes a large-diameter element, an aspherical lens system, and a UD lens element that corrects aberration so you get good quality images.
The lens comes with an Optical Image Stabilizer system that provides up to four equivalent stops of shake correction.
The lens has a stepping motor (STM) and a refined focus so you get smooth and quiet continuous AF during video recording, as well as when shooting photos.
