The APS-C CMOS Sensor delivers high-resolution image quality to give you highly detailed images. Be it for landscapes or still-life shots, the pictures are sure to be richly detailed such that even the skin tones and textures are accurate. The DIGIC 6 Processor enables speeds of up to 7.0 fps for photos (continuous shooting) and Full HD 60p/50p for movies to process a huge volume of data at a high speed and with great precision. With an amplified ISO speed - a normal ISO of 16000 (12800 during movie shooting) and an expanded ISO of up to ISO 25600, you can capture splendid shots at fast shutter speeds, even in low-lighting conditions. The focusing brightness range for viewfinder shooting has been upgraded to EV -3. This makes for an improved AF performance in extremely low-light scenes.
The AF sensor compasses a large portion of the viewfinder and comprises 45 selectable points (all cross-type) to enable precise AF tracking, even for 7.0 fps high-speed continuous shooting. The 27 points out of these points can be used to focus with f/8 so that you can have a pleasant experience with AF, even when you are using an extender. This, combined with the 7560-pixel RGB + IR Metering System, tracks and detects colour. Now, the accuracy of the Scene Detection System is improved and the overall exposure clarity is enhanced. Also, you can track your human subjects in an accurate manner. The viewfinder, which has 100% coverage (approximately), comes equipped with the Intelligent Viewfinder. With the display of a variety of shooting information, such as the electronic level and multiple aspect ratio shooting image area (including 1:1), the viewfinder shooting is now easy and convenient.
Thanks to the enhanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF feature, that is compatible with all EF/EF-S lenses and extenders, you can now experience remarkably fast AF during Live View Shooting. As Servo AF is also supported during Live View Shooting, you can now take continuous shots of up to 5.0 fps, even while you are carrying out AF subject tracking. Thanks to the Full HD 60p/50p Movie Shooting feature, you can now film time-lapse movies and HDR movies. So, go on and capture sensational pictures, even in strong backlight conditions with high brightness contrast. You can also explore the Digital Zoom feature and creative filters for movie shooting. The Vari-angle LCD screen now makes it possible for you shoot from any position. The smooth touchscreen operation lets you to shoot stills and movies easily.
