Carry On Jatta  (DVD Punjabi)

Making waves in the regional film circuit is this 2012 Punjabi smash comedy, Carry On Jatta. Written and directed by Smeep Kang, this Punjabi laugh riot starts Gippy Grewal, brother of producer Sippy Grewal along with Mahie Gill, Jaswinder Bhalla and Rana Ranbir. The story revolves around Jass (Gippy Grewal) who falls in love with a girl played by Mahie Gill at a friend’s wedding. Things start to get complicated once Jass leans that the girl, being an orphan only wants to get married to someone without a family, so she doesn’t have to deal with post marriage issues like nagging in-laws. The plot gathers pace when Jass decides to pretend to be an orphan and slowly, one lie leads to another on the whole building up to a climax of comically charged marital mix ups. With a run time of 138 minutes, English subtitles, a well put together cast and a tightly knit script, Carry On Jatta is a sure shot family entertainer for all to enjoy.
