  • Description
Between 375 and 283 BCE, a legend by the name, Chanakya (also known as Kautilya and Vishnugupta), lived a life on the Indian soil, whose contributions and legacy are relevant even today, not only in India but in the whole world. Chanakya was the prime minister and political advisor of the Emperor Chandragupta and also the latter’s son Bindusara. It is said that Chanakya was insulted by Dhanananda, the then king of Pataliputra, which led Chanakya to take a vow to dethrone him; which he finally did with the help of Chandragupta. Besides being the person responsible to pick up Chandragupta as a child, Chanakya nurtured him and was responsible for making him the king of the largest  empire in India of that time. The two famous books authored by Chanakya are: Neeti-shastra and Arthashastra, which are the guiding principles even today for the commoners and the heads of the states, alike.    The present book describes the life, contributions, and relevance of  Chanakya, the legendary. It is hoped that the readers will take inspiration from this ancient Indian and learn a lot from his contributions.
