Chandragupta Maurya, the uprooter of the Nandas, became the sole Master of Nortern India and eventually his coronation took place at Pataliputra in 313 B.C. Chandragupta Maurya, the brave warrior, pushed his conquests forward and thus gained recognizance as the paramount sovereign in the whole of India. Chandragupta Maurya, the man of justice, supervised the administration of justice himself. This great Emperor of a vast Empire reigned for 24 years and finally died in or about 289 B.C.
