    What's with the blue cover?

    CMOS is talked of reverentially in journalism classes. But please note that CMOS is more a publication industry style guide than a journalist's style guides. The book does not give much guidance on usage of particular words, like the AP style guide or the style guides of newspapers such as the Guardian. For an alternative, check out Oxford's New Hart's Rules and Dictionary for Writers, that combo mores more value for money for by 1) being cheaper 2) being shorter 3) offering word guidelines. ...
