Therefore, a painting block is ideal for outdoor or “plein air painting”. You only need to carry your paints, brushes and a palette along with a painting block. Simply turn over the cover page and start painting. When completed, wait till it is dry. Then run a thin steel scale under the first page on all its edges (you will find an open corner to insert it). Your painting is now detached from the block and is ready to be stored in a safe place while the second page of the block is now ready for painting.
