One of the best books I have read in ages - A wonderful spicy dessert

I just finished reading this book and now I am regretting why I read it so fast. It gave me so much enjoyment every day at bedtime and it had become something I used to look forward to.

Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and will surely encourage all to read it and would post my comments on Facebook soon. Its a story that we can all relate to and the author's style of writing makes even simple mundane incidences so interesting. It has action, emotion, drama, thrill but all of ...

    Great!!!!

The book is very gripping and well written. I am from Kolkata myself and I can say that the portrayal of the city is perfect. I grew up in the Lake Market/ Gariahat area and this book brought back a lot of memories. Good job and all the best for your next venture.

Great book, Clever writing and Waiting for a sequel..

The unique title of book piqued my curiosity and I read it in just two sittings. What a refreshing change from the average masala stuff that goes around. The writing is so clever. You end up wanting to know what happens to the characters and begin to root for their success. I would like to read more about Tiger and his friends. Wonder if there will be a sequel.

    Nice best seller

I liked this book because it is a good fast paced story which follows the life of Tiger Bose and his friends who live in a society of flats in Calcutta. The story is good with memorable characters and a lot of variety in the themes - growing up issues, friendship, financial issues, trust and betrayal and even tantriks and ghosts. All in all a good book and I will recommend.

Good 'Tiger' to hang out with...

The name of the novel intrigues you right from the moment you see it on the shelf. It is as if you can already taste the sweetness of the cold ice-cream mixed with the spicy hot taste of green chillies in your mouth. Much like life itself where you have to balance the sugary sweet moments with the tangy ones.

The novel traces the lives of Chinmoy â??Tigerâ?? Bose, the protagonist and his four friends with the Vanilla Apartments and its dwellers as backdropâ?? as sources that teach them valua...

    Fast paced and interesting story!

This is a coming of age story that is fast paced and spiced up like the author says a la "green chillies in vanilla ice cream" (a combination that I have never tried or would want to but which conjurs up instant imagery).

The story is set in a high rise apartment in Calcutta with a lot of interesting personalities and like a microcosm of middle class India a lot happens in the lives of people living there. The narration is through the impressionable yet maturing eyes of the main protagonist ...

Nice book with good plot. Good story!

I read the book on a plane ride and could not put it down. Nice time pass and a very easy read.

I liked the characters and the plot - there are some twists and some very nice comedy sections.

    Would highly recommend.

First reviewer----------I will never recommend this book to any one

I bought this book recently, thinking it would be very exciting to read. My calculations were totally wrong. None of the chapters made any sense. I'm calling them 'chapters' because, each section looks so independent of the previous ones, and none of them make any sense. The author starts off with a third person narration and right in the second page moves to first person narration. The narrator goes on narrating irrelevant topics time-to-time. Catching of the ghost is the stupidest one I hav...
