  • Description
The present book is an outcome of an extended research on the interdisciplinary concept of class conflict. It is an extensive study of the concept of class and class conflict. It covers many great critics and philosophers, political thinkers and theorists, who have contributed in understanding the class and class conflicts. Furthermore, it also studies the causes and conditions that ignite class conflict. Understanding the relationship between society and literature is the key-concern of this work. The novels under the study reflect the conflict. This book is a ready reference to the young aspirants to pursue their academic excellence in the area of literature in general and African and Indian English Novels in particular. The selected novels mark the transition in the social and literary history of Africa and India. In fact, the novelty of this study lies in comparing the literature of two different colonies and their colonial experiences that form the core of this study. The novels have been analysed for their social, economic, and cultural impositions by the Imperialists and their impact on Indian and African society and psyche. This book deserves a place on the shelves of the Libraries of all the Departments of English in specific and all the Colleges and University Libraries in general. Besides the students of English Literature, the students of Sociology, Economics, and Culture studies can also refer this book for understanding a wider perspective of the concept of class and class conflict and its reflection in the literature. It can also find its way to the various study centers where a comparative study of English Literature is undertaken.
