About Michael Porter

Michael Eugene Porter is an American strategist and the Bishop William Lawrence University Professor at The Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness, at the Harvard Business School.

A graduate of Princeton University, where he studied Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, he received an MBA from Harvard Business School and pursued his Ph.D. at Harvard University, studying business economics. A prolific writer, Dr. Porter has also written: Competition in Global Industries, The Competitive Advantage of Nations, and Competition in Global Industries.

Dr. Porter received the title of Harvard University Professor, the highest professional recognition that can be awarded to a Harvard faculty member as well as an honorary degree from McGill University.
