The Complete Yes Minister is a companion book to the eponymous British satirical TV series.

Summary of the Book

Ministers are busy men. They’ve meetings to attend, speeches to give, and votes to win. They don’t even have time to go to the House of Commons, because really, everyone knows that government doesn’t take place from the House of Commons. Government is a private business, much of it is a secret process which would only confuse normal people. Politics, on the other hand, is everywhere. In this book, written by the Right Hon. James Hacker MP himself in 2019, he explains that since he’s out of the confines of the Thirty-Year rule, he free to explain what has been happening in his life. He tries his best to explain what has happened, what he thinks has happened and what he thinks we should believe has happened. It’s a rather long story, but hold on to your fish ‘n chips for it’s a hilarious one.

About the Authors

Jonathan Lynn is an English comedy writer, actor and film director. He is also known for directing Nuns on the Run and My Cousin Vinny.

Sir Antony Rupert Jay is an English director, broadcaster and writer. He is also known for writing the BBC TV documentaries Royal Family and Elizabeth R: A Year in the Life of the Queen. He was awarded the title of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) for personal services to the Royal Family.

The writers are the creators of the hit TV series upon which this book is based. They also created the spin-off series entitled Yes Prime Minister and wrote another companion book, The Complete Yes Prime Minister.
