This book aims to serve as a basic text for one- two-semester courses covering the introductory methods of numerical analysis and statistical techniques at the undergraduate and the beginning graduate level as in BE /Btech / AMIE / BSc / BCA / MCA / MSc. It has been written as an all-encompassing text for students who are taking Numerical Methods / Statistical Techniques as introductory level course. The book comprehensively covers the three fields: Numerical Methods Statistical Techniques and related Computer Programming. The subject matter is given in a systematic and interesting manner. Even an average student will be able to understand the subject without any difficulty. The book is simple and good for self-study also. An advanced numerical method Finite Element Method (FEM) has been incorporated for an introductory level idea and awareness of the readers. An introductory level MATLAB concept has been provided. Many computer programmes have been included and extensive exercises given. A number of solved examples are given to make the subject clear.

About the Author

P. K. De is currently Lecturer in Mathematics at the Apaji Institute of Mathematics and Applied Computer Technology Banesthali Vidyapith (Deemed University) Rajasthan. Previously he was Lecturer in Delhi College of Engineering Delhi University and Krishna Institute of Engineering and Technology Ghaziabad. He was Senior Research Fellow in CSIR Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation (C-MMACS) National Aerospace Laboratories Bangalore. He visited Chemnotz University ofTechnology with DAAD Research Fellowship. He did his MSc (mathematics) and BT from University of Kalyani and Mphil (applied mathematics) from Indian School of Mines Dhanbad and is presently actively involved in research work there.
