About The Book: This book provides a systematic introduction to Indian metaphysics through "A Constructive Survey of Upanishadic Philosophy." In the chapter titled "The Background of Upanishadic Speculation," the importance of studying the Upanishads is examined. It explores their connections with the Rigveda, Atharvaveda, and Brahmanas. Additionally, it discusses the Upanishads' perspective on revelation, their chronological arrangement, and focuses on significant texts such as the Brihadaranyaka and Chhandogya Upanishads. The chapter also evaluates the diverse methods utilized in Upanishadic philosophy, including enigmatic, aphoristic, etymological, and dialectic approaches, while shedding light on the poetry and philosophers of that era.
