Cooking at Home With Pedatha (English, Hardcover, Giri Jigyasa, Jain, Pratibha)
Cooking at Home with Pedatha, compiled by Jigyasa Giri and Pratibha Jain, brings vegetarian recipes from a traditional Andhra kitchen.
Summary of the Book
This book revisits tradition. Jigyasa Giri and Pratibha Jain have taken the initiative to chronicle the legacy of the otherwise orally passed on wisdom of traditional styles of cooking Andhra food. The recounting of this culinary legacy centres on eighty-five-year-old Subhadra Krishna Rau Parigi. Fondly called Pedatha, she was the eldest progeny of the former president of India, Bharat Ratna Dr. V. V. Giri and Smt. Saraswathi Bai Gin. More than just a record of some traditional, time-tested food recipes, the book also discusses step-by-step guidelines in moderating and cooking, along with special tips, and even a transliteration scheme for the pronunciation of Telugu terms.
