About the Authors
L. D. Landau was a prominent Russian physicist best known for his contributions in the field of theoretical physics. He was honored with the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physics for developing a mathematical theory of superfluidity. Landau died on the 1st of April, 1968.
Evgeny Lifshitz was a prolific Soviet physicist. Lifshitz was the second of only 43 people to have passed Landau's "Theoretical Minimum" examination. He has made extraordinary contributions in the field of quantum electrodynamics.
Landau and Lifshitz have co-authored several books like Fluid Mechanics, Quantum Electrodynamics, etc.
