  • Description

Kant's Critique of Pure Reason (1781) is the central text of modern philosophy. It brings together the two opposing schools of philosophy: rationalism, which grounds all our knowledge in reason, and empiricism, which traces all our knowledge to experience. The Critique is a profound and challenging investigation into the nature of human reason, establishing its truths and its falsities, its illusions and its reality. Reason, argues Kant, is the seat of all concepts, including God, freedom and immortality, and must therefore precede and surpass human experience.

Marcus Weigelt's lucid re-working of Max Muller's classic translation makes the critique accessible to a new generation of readers. His informative introduction places the work in context and elucidates Kant's main arguments. This edition also contains a bibliography and explanatory notes.

    Worth every penny

This is the review based on product quality not the content ( no doubt CoPR is one of the most influential book in the fields of modern philosophy and metaphysics.)
I received the Penguin Classics edition and at much discount. The quality is superb and delivery war so fine. The pages are good, the spine/binding is strong, font is good, translation is readable. Thank you Flipkart.

    Most Important Philosophy Text

Note: While I have this book and am currently reading it, I have purchased it from infibeam, not flipkart. (Exact same translation, exact same ISBN Penguin version paperback copy.)

Every philosophy student knows how important place this text holds in the discipline of philosophy.
Kant brought rationalists and empiricists to the same table, almost settled the debate..and set the modern philosophy to a whole new level!

His work is the central text of modern philosophy, indeed all philosophy.....
