Drawing from Everett Rogers, Geoffrey Moore reveals that there is a pattern to how, why and at what rate new ideas and technologies spread through cultures. Moore teaches readers that people vary in their expectations depending on their visions, and that pragmatists differ from visionaries in a fundamental way. Showing that the five main segments of the technology adoption life cycle are: innovators, early adopters, early majority, late majority and laggards. Each group of customers require a completely different perception and treatment, and marketing strategies should account for this. Failure to do so, Moore tells us, will have bad consequences. Continuously innovative marketing strategies tap into a potential for business that is not found otherwise, and results in a large payback for the marketer involved.

About Geoffrey A. Moore

Geoffrey Moore is an American management consultant, organizational behaviorist and writer. A graduate of Stanford University, Moore studied English Literature at the University of Washington, completing his Ph.D. in 1974. He has been working as a management consultant and he has drawn the foundations of his work from his time at The McKenna Group and the Chasm Group.
