Pair it with the same brand dual ram 16X2 stick for 2%(aprx) better performance
Or it will work with two different brands too
I am currently using it with oem Samsung Ram 8GB and added this 16GB and total 24GB.
FYI - if you're using AMD, 2 to 4 GB will be reserved for Shared graphics memory.
So my suggestion is to go with higher ram for amd

A:If you mix both SC and DC RAM (ie: SC-DC) in your laptop then DC RAM will work like SC RAM; No Benefits, but instead it might cause issues like BSOD. So buy SC-SC or buy DC-DC.
