Dr. John Proakis holds a PhD in Engineering from Harvard University, and is currently a Research Professor at Northeastern University. He is the author of the book Digital Communications and co-author of the books, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Signal Processing Laboratory, Advanced Digital Signal Processing, Digital Processing of Speech Signals and Communication Systems Engineering. He worked in GTE Laboratories and the MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Proakis was a professor at Northeastern University from 1969 to 1998. His professional experience and interests are in the general areas of digital communications and digital signal processing.
