Author Info | - Pt. Janardan Rai Nagar was born in Udaipur on June 16, 1911. Pt. Nagar, rich in multidimensional talent, established his indelible fame in the fields of education, literature, journalism, politics and social service etc. Janardan Rai Nagar, who was initiated into Gandhian values and blessed by Katha Samrat Premchandra, established Hindi Vidyapeeth as a night institute in 1937 with the aim of spreading education in Mewar.As a result of the continuous penance of Pt. Nagar, this institution gradually progressed. Presently, Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Udaipur is established in the form of a banyan tree.
Immersed in the public practice of education, Janardanarai Nagar's solitary practice continued in the form of literary creation. He wrote in novels, stories, prose-songs, biographies and poetry genres. ‘Jagadguru Shankaracharya’ written by him, which is a series of ten novels consisting of 5,500 pages, is an invaluable heritage of Hindi literature.Five novels of his ‘Ram-Rajya’ have been published. Four prose-song collections, two story collections titled Nagar Ki Kahaniyan have been published. His plays ‘Acharya Chanakya’, Patit Ka Swarg’, ‘Uda Hatyaara’, ‘Jeevan Ka Satya’ were very popular and were also staged.
In the field of journalism, Pt. Nagar contributed significantly in establishing, editing and running many newspapers and magazines. Magazines like 'Mudhamati', 'Swar Mangala', 'Nakhistan', 'Balhit', 'Kalki', Samaj Shikshan', 'Shodh Patrika', 'Vasundhara', 'Jan-Mangal', 'Jan Sandesh' and 'Aravalli' etc. His fame is legendary.
