"Col V K Rajendran’s blogs are in English though he writes also in Malayalam, his mother tongue. His blogs are mostly autobiographical and about life in the army. Humour comes to him naturally though some of his blogs are serious, and often philosophical. He has regularly written for the weekly “Sarvatra” of the College of Military Engineering, Pune, in his early days. He not only wrote but also was the Student Editor of “Happenings”, the Magazine of the Military College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (as it was then known), in Secunderabad. Apart from these, he regularly contributed poems and articles for the Journal of the Corps of EME, throughout his long career of over thirty years. Col Rajendran has published a book, “Silhouettes of Emotions”, a collection of poems penned during his army service, which was well received. This book of his blogs is a welcome addition to his published work. He was a versatile athlete and a sportsman in his youth and had even done stunt driving on motorcycles a decade before the famous Tornadoes came into being. He lives in Chennai and continues to muse about things both consequential and inconsequential."
