Diego Maradona was born in 1960, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was born to a very poor family and most of his early childhood was spent in poverty. However, when he was ten, he was spotted by a talent scout. Maradona started playing for the Los Cebollitas team of the Argentinos Juniors. He made his professional debut in the Argentinos Juniors team when he was just a few days short of his sixteenth birthday. Maradona later played for many of the major professional football clubs like Napoli, Sevilla and Barcelona. He has played in four FIFA World Cups. In the 1986 World Cup, Maradona led Argentina to victory, and was voted the tournament's best player and was awarded the Golden Ball. He is regarded by many peers, coaches, and fans as the greatest football player of all time. Maradona was jointly selected along with Pele as the FIFA Player of the 20th Century.
