This book cannot be read overnight. The author does not compromise in starting from the basics and the rigour.The concept of entropy very abstract and inexplicably everywhere is explained beautifully. I started appreciating the book when i started analyzing each graph ( A lot of the explanation is graphical). Well worth if you have the time and inclination to pore overit. But keep a more EXAM FRIENDLY book with you (-:

Conceptual book

In my view this book is very useful to build our basic knowledge & to understand concepts of thermodynamics. Very good solved examples, theoretical review questions. Just a amazing book.
Very good book for IES & other exams.

The level is certainly high and only the intermediate learners who are pretty strong with the basic concepts will find this book easy ... If you are new to thermodynamics Start with RK RAJPUT.. Its language is very simple and the concepts are explained well..

Book to build concept, not for crammers..

This book is a very good book to build concept for begineers. It has topics described in such a way that you may consume time to understand the topic, but your understanding will be crystal clear.
this book is a must for students appearing for GATE or PSUs or Semesters as the author stressed more on Concept building.

Good Read.

The book is a nice read.But at times very brief explanations have been provided which makes it difficult for an average student to follow.The flow of theory is good and the solved examples are very helpful in grasping the subject matter.

Worst book ever !!

My teacher referred this this book to our class. More than half of the students failed for the exam. The problem was that this book is not at all easy to learn. Its very complicated and only an expert can understand the concepts. So please don't make the mistake of buying this book.Its not only a waste of money but you may even flunk the subject. I recommend R K Rajput's thermodynamics book. Its much more easy to understand and there are lot of worked our examples too. I am an engineering stu...

better than those Big Bulging books....

this book is straight to the point , conceptual and is according to my syllabus. The book issued by the college was big bulging and had a lot of topics which were of no use to me. So this one gave a relief to me
