    Highly recommended

A truly excellent book that makes for an entertaining and enlightened reading. Charles Dicken's novel, ' A Tale of Two cities ' begins with the immortal words .... It was the best of times , it was worst of times. This book talks about the worst of times our country went through , in the best possible way. If we don't know how we came to be and from where , then we can't truly be masters of our fate for the uncertain future ahead.

    Best in the market!

One of the best books I've ever read! I have seen Tharoor's Oxford address a number of times, but this book was an eye-opener. Aside from the many examples of British travesty described so well (the destruction of the Indian textile, agriculture, steel, shipping, and handicrafts industries), the book gives an excellent insight into why post-Independence India is the way it is. For example, why our government bureaucracy is actually an impediment to the country's progress - it was created for ...

    Pirated version

An era of darkness. . . . A poor quality , possibly a pirated edition of the book has been mailed to me. Flipkart needs to check the the books as to whether it is original or pirated- before it is mailed to the customer.
