Alain De Botton is a British writer, philosopher, entrepreneur, and television presenter.

He has written several books, skirting both fiction and nonfiction territories. Apart from Essays In Love, his other bestsellers include How Proust Can Change Your Life, Status Anxiety, and The Architecture Of Happiness. In 2011, Botton was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.

His books have always dealt with contemporary themes that emphasize philosophy’s relevance in today’s world.
