  • Description

Feynman Lectures On Gravitation is based the in-class lectures of Richard Feynman. This book covers a wide range of topics in physics in general and gravitation in particular, and provides a window to the thoughts of a extraordinary Nobel laureate.

    Summary of the Book

The Feynman Lectures on Gravitation are based on class notes prepared by the Nobel Laureate during a course on gravitational physics which he had taught at Caltech in 1962. These lectures provide an incisive look into the scientist’s viewpoints and his insights into gravity and its application to cosmology, superstars, wormholes, and gravitational waves at that particular time.
In this book, Feynman has taken a non-traditional non-geometric approach towards gravitation and general relativity based on the underlying quantum aspects of gravity. This book will make for an ideal read for those interested in learning about gravitational forces the non-conventional way.

    About Richard Feynman

Richard Phillips Feynman was an American physicist and scientist best remembered for his work in the path integral formulation of quantum mechanics, the theory of quantum electrodynamics, and the physics of the superfluidity of supercooled liquid helium, as well as in particle physics. He is also known in academic circles for his series of lectures on physics which were recorded and compiled into a series of books entitled The Feynman Lectures on Physics. He is also known for his semi-autobiographical books: Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! and What Do You Care What Other People Think?

Feynman received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1965 with Julian Schwinger and Sin-Itiro Tomonaga for his contributions to the development of quantum electrodynamics. A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Princeton University, where he also completed his Ph.D., he participated in the Manhattan Project.
