Sarala Kurup Jagan is the firstborn of Radha and C.M. Madhavan Kurup. She was born on the 30th of January 1954 in a mofussil village called Mukali in Kerala; she has walked this earth for threescore and five years. She was raised in Pune, her karmabhoomi. As an alumnus of the St. Joseph’s Convent, Khadki, and the Fergusson College, Pune, she honed her skill for languages –English and French. Then, was employed at the Syndicate Bank for 23 years. After her premature retirement from the bank, she has been a coach for the English and French languages and has a written some poems too. Her passion for poetry is boundless and sustains her soul. She is an incorrigible romantic who believes in loving, laughing and learning along the way. All that is humane and urbane fascinates her. Poetry is an undying passion of hers.
