Fundamentals of Adaptive Filtering (English, Paperback, Sayed Ali H.)
This book is intended for a graduate course on adaptive filtering and is based on the author's course offered at UCLA over a number of years. Each chapter in the book consists of five distinctive parts in the following order: concepts, notes and bibliography, problems, appendixes and computer projects. The computer projects have been chosen to be relevant for practitioners and to show students how the theory can be applied to real situations.

About the Author
Ali H. Sayed was born in Brazil and educated in Lebanon and Brazil. He received the degrees of Engineer and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1992. He has been on the faculty of the UCLA Electrical Engineering Department since 1996, where he established and directs the Adaptive Systems Laboratory.
Dr. Sayed's research interests span several areas, including adaptive and statistical signal processing, equalization techniques for communications, echo cancellation, wireless location, linear and nonlinear filtering and estimation, interplays between signal processing and control methodologies, and reliable and efficient algorithms for large-scale structured computations.
Prof. Sayed has served on the program committees of several international meetings. He is also a member of the editorial boards of several journals, including the SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Its Applications, the International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, and the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing. He has also served as co-editor of special issues of the journal Linear Algebra and Its Applications.
Dr. Sayed is the recipient of the 1996 IEEE Donald G. Fink Award for the paper, "A State-Space Approach to Adaptive RLS Filtering". In January of 2001 he was named Fellow of the IEEE for his contributions to adaptive filtering and estimation algorithms.
